All employers have a responsibility to protect their employees from health and safety hazards in the workplace. Employees also have a right to be informed of all potential hazards in the workplace, as well as the right to refuse to work if they think it is dangerous.

Despite this, there was  a total of 78,000 UK employees injured at their workplace over 2012 - 2013 - which all added up to a total of 27 million working days lost due to either injury or illness.
